//Our core values

At Prime Autism and ADHD assessments, we take a neuroaffirming approach to assessment and diagnosis. Whilst there are some challenges that can come with being autistic, there are many strengths too. We aim to make the process enlightening and empowering and regularly receive feedback that the outcome of the assessment has positively impacted on a person’s quality of life.

We know that choosing a private provider to undertake an autism assessment can be daunting. Because our assessments are undertaken by clinicians with decades of experience and follow both SIGN and NICE guidelines, our assessment results are accepted by schools, universities and workplaces.

Whilst many providers now offer the entire assessment online, we remain committed to the gold standard approach: all ADOS assessments are carried out face-to-face which means that you can be confident of the findings.

//Assessment Process

Screening

We are aware that the investment in assessment is significant, and that clarity is needed early on about whether to go forward with either an autism or combined assessment.

Therefore, we offer free screening questionnaires and only recommend proceeding with full assessment if screening indicates so.

  • Autism Assessments

    Gold standard Autism assessments for children, young people and adults

  • ADHD Assessments

    High quality ADHD assessments for children, adolescents and adults

Combined Assessments

We also carry out combined Autism and ADHD assessments

//What stands us apart

  • Neuroaffirming approach Plus

    We view neurodivergence as a natural and valuable part of human diversity. Our work does not aim to change who someone is, but to understand their unique profile, reduce distress, and support wellbeing within environments that are often not designed with neurodivergent people in mind.

  • Decades of experience Plus

    Having spent decades working both within the NHS and independent practice, our team are highly skilled and experienced at assessing ASC across all genders, ages and developmental stages. They have specific expertise in assessing ASC within more complex presentations such as those who mask/camouflage, who have gender identity issues, behaviours which are obsessive and/ or compulsive, those who exhibit complex mental health issues and those who may have been misdiagnosed previously and therefore require more specialist thinking, assessment and formulation

  • Complimentary screening Plus

    We want you feel in safe hands from the very start of your work with us. We therefore offer complimentary screening and will only recommend further assessment if screening indicates this is likely to be helpful

  • Trauma informed Plus

    Our clinicians are highly experienced in working with people with trauma including people with neurodivergence and trauma. We are well versed in differentiating between them as well as having an understanding of how they can interact

  • Sensory informed Plus

    We recognise the significant role that sensory processing plays in emotional regulation, behaviour, and wellbeing. Our clinicians are skilled in noticing and understanding sensory sensitivities and sensory-seeking needs, and in considering how environments can support or overwhelm an individual. We take a thoughtful, flexible approach to assessment and intervention, adapting pace, communication, and surroundings to reduce sensory stress and increase a sense of safety

  • LQBTQI+ aligned Plus

    We are committed to providing an affirming, inclusive, and respectful space for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. Our clinicians work with an understanding of the specific stressors that LGBTQI+ people may experience, including minority stress, discrimination, and barriers to feeling safe or understood. We recognise the importance of using correct names and pronouns, honouring each person’s identity, and supporting individuals to explore their experiences without assumption, judgement, or pressure to conform

  • Skill in assessing autism in females Plus

    We have extensive experience in assessing girls and women, including those whose neurodivergence or mental health needs may have been overlooked, misunderstood, or masked. We are attentive to the ways social expectations, camouflaging, and internalised distress can shape presentation, and we take care to look beyond surface functioning. Our assessments aim to provide a nuanced, respectful understanding that reflects the individual’s lived experience across the lifespan

//Post diagnostic Support

Time and time again, we hear how people receive a diagnosis without adequate explanation or meaningful information, let alone subsequent support. At Prime Autism and ADHD assessments, we understand the importance of the whole journey, which is why we offer:

If ADHD medication is something you with to consider, we can refer you on to trusted prescribers.

“Our daughter has responded very well to Molly and she is closer to the girl we had before the first lockdown. Everything has improved, both mentally and educationally. Whilst we are not complacent, she is now moving in a positive direction. What Molly has achieved with our daughter has been exceptional."
